Interested in becoming a coach?
Coaches are what make Basketball as a Mission possible. Coaches play an integral role in shaping each camper’s experience and are responsible for conducting the camp and representing the organization. Duties include but are not limited to:
- Fundraising the required minimum that is set by Basketball as a Mission. This is determined by the cost of travel and accommodations.
- Collecting and traveling with gear for donation (including shoes, shorts, shirts, undergarments, basketballs, prizes and equipment).
- Organizing and distributing donations at the beginning of each day.
- Directing basketball drills including dribbling, shooting, passing, defense and strategy.
- Conducting agility and conditioning drills.
- Leading and teaching a variety of games.
It is not required to have expert knowledge in basketball or fluency in Spanish, however one aspect remains mandatory – Basketball as a Mission coaches must be passionate about helping children.
