Basketball as a Mission ensures that each camper gets a pair of shoes, socks, shorts, jersey, camp shirt and sports bras for the girls. In addition, the school receives basketballs and nets and the community often receives additional apparel. Any extra donated gear is distributed to someone who is in great need of the item. Often, items are are given to large families who do not have tennis shoes or children whose parents are not around. If we do not know who to distribute to fairly, we will leave the gear for the local church or school to distribute it.
Each camp has increased in size throughout the years, especially in Costa Rica and Dominican Republic. It is the goal of Basketball as a Mission to obtain at least 500 pairs of shoes and uniforms for each camp season.
