Bishop Montgomery High School

Bishop Montgomery has been a great sponsor and help to us, especially this year. Basketball as a Mission Cub helped us to be able to buy uniforms for St John the Evangelist School in LA. Mrs. Mattes’ religion classes adopted Basketball as a Mission and collected a LOT of gear for us. The school even made a denim day donation as well, which helped us to get to Argentina.

St. Lawrence Martyr School

St. Lawrence Martyr School also donated old game uniforms. They included home and away jerseys, and there were about 60 in total. These uniforms were shared with campers at our camp in the Dominican Republic, who are always happy with whatever gear we give to them. A special thanks and recognition goes out to Mrs. Dargen, who helped to arrange the jerseys to be donated.

Elementary School in Chicago, IL Kayla Grummel’s school

Elementary School in Rolling Meadows, IL, adopted Basketball as a Mission this year. They collected a MOUNTAIN of shoes for our camps, which included many of the smaller sizes which are harder for us to find. Their donation helped us to fit ALL of our campers with shoes, including the youngest and smallest campers. Thanks to Kayla Grummel and family for your support.

Siena Heights University

The Siena Heights University Women’s Basketball Program donated about 45 used uniforms to Basketball as a Mission, who brought the uniforms to Argentina, where each child received a full game uniform. They also donated some warm-up pants, which are greatly needed during the cold winters in Cordoba, Argentina. A special thanks to coaches Sue Syljebeck, Debrah Ray, and Sara Chrenko.

Mira Costa High School

Mira Costa Girls Basketball also donated their former game jerseys and shooting shirts to Basketball as a Mission. They also gave us some t-shirts, which were handed out as prizes for some of our camp competitions. A special thanks and recognition goes out to Mrs. Thompson, who made it possible for us to receive those jerseys, which were a tremendous hit at our camp in the Dominican Republic.

Airwave Communications, Inc.

Airwave Communications, Inc., made a large monetary donation to Basketball as a Mission towards its 2008 camps. Tony Aguilar, one of their employees of eight years, attended our camp in the Dominican Republic. A special thanks from Basketball as a Mission goes out to Gary Shoup and Daniel Gutierrez.
